Foreign Object In Nose

Since pets are always sniffing people and objects it is common that they can get an object stuck in their noses. This can be something like a blade of grass that was swallowed and got down the throat and then was snorted up and got stuck in the nose. If your pet does not allow you to remove the item as the nose is a very sensitive place you may have to get a vet to help and get it out.

Steps

Make sure to muzzle your cat because they can accidentally bite you while you are trying to help them

Have someone else hold her head and talk to her in a soothing voice to keep her calm

Use your fingers or a blunt-tipped tweezer to remove the object making sure her head is held still with the other hand

Clean the nostril after removing the object with a cotton ball soaked with contact lens solution

Apply some Neosporin if you see any abrasions or soreness and make sure to hold her for 1 min while the Neosporin soaks in as your cat will probably lick it off

Warnings

If your cat can not stay still while holding her consult a vet to remove the object

Tips

Keep watch for any nasal discharge or sneezing as that can indicate something is still stuck or there's an infection and consult your vet
