Styes are an inflammation of the eyelid. They can be caused by blocked glands near the eyelid. Although they are not dangerous they can be uncomfortable and your pet can scratch it causing damage to the eye. Styes can be treated with first aid but if the sty is more serious you will have to seek veterinarian assistance.

Symptoms

Steps
1   You will have to affix an Elizabethan collar to your cat so that she does not try to scratch her sty and possibly scratch and injure her eye
2   Take a washcloth and wet it with hot water, wring it out and then lay it against the affected eye for 5 min on and 5 min off until the cloth cools for 3-4 times a day until the sty drains
3   Continue the wet compresses 3-4 times a day and the sty should open up, drain and be gone in 2-3 days
4   If sty does not heal consult a vet as it may not be a sty
Warnings
DO NOT use extremely hot water, make sure that it is hot enough to the touch but not enough to burn
Tips
The hot compress will help increase blood flow to help the sore heal
