Bookmark and Share

Male cats and occasionally female cats can develop a urinary blockage as a result of excess crystals building up in the urinary tract and preventing normal release of urine. Blockages in cats may be related to decreased water intake, dietary factors, stress, and physiological factors. A cat who is unable to pass urine is a serous medical emergency. It is almost always fatal if blocked for more than 48 hours.
