Acetaminophen Poisoning (Tylenol)

We use Acetaminophen as a pain reliever. Accidental overdosing is very common as people think taking more will ease pain faster. Overdosing on Acetaminophen is extremely dangerous.

Symptoms

Steps
1   Call poison control IMMEDIATELY (800) 222-1222
2   While calling poison control get the Patient's age, weight, and condition a. Name of the product (ingredients and strengths) b. Time it was swallowed c. Amount swallowed
3   Call emergency services or take the person to the Emergency Room
Warnings
Without rapid treatment, a very large overdose of acetaminophen can lead to liver failure and death in a few days
Tips
If treatment is received within 8 hours of overdose, there is a very good chance of recovery
