Bookmark and Share

Asthma is a disease in which irritants in inhaled air can trigger a rapid constriction of the small airways in the lungs caused by inflammation and the increased production of mucous. Difficulty in breathing occurs as a result. Common causes of an asthma attack include tobacco smoke, dust mites, animal dander, mold, and strong odors. Exercise and strong emotional reactions, such as laughing or crying, can also cause an attack.
