Bleeding From Ear

Any break in the skin can cause bleeding. Depending on how severe the break in the skin is and how deep it is will determine the amount of bleeding. It is essential to stop the bleeding or slow it down with pressure until you can reach emergency medical help. If the bleeding is due to any trauma, seek medical attention immediately.

Symptoms

Steps
1   Loosely cover the outside of the ear with a bandage or cloth to catch the flow of blood
2   Place the person on the injured side with the affected ear facing down allowing blood to drain
3   Seek emergency medical attention
Warnings
The person should not be moved if a serious head, neck or back injury is suspected
DO NOT try to stop the flow of blood from the ear canal
DO NOT put anything into the ear
Tips
All ear injuries should be considered serious and require medical help.
