Chiggers are the juvenile form of a type of mite that live in forests, grassy fields, gardens, parks, and in moist areas around lakes or rivers. Chiggers inject enzymes on the skin to kill the tissue and then they feed on it. First aid can aid to remove the chiggers but if they persist consult your physician.

Steps
1   Wash the area with soap and water
2   Apply hydrocortisone cream to the area to eliminate itching and scratching
3   Consult your physician if signs of infection occur

DO NOT scratch the wound
Tips
Clip your fingernails short to limit damage to the skin.
If the itchiness persists for more than 2 weeks from the moment it is treated, seek medical attention
