Cramp is a term often used to refer to a painful, involuntary contraction of a single muscle or a muscle group. Cramps are caused by overexertion of the muscles, repetitive use, inappropriate resting positions or dehydration. Make sure to drink plenty of water and stretch every day to prevent cramping. Hand cramps are uncommon and should be check be a medical professional if they persists or occur frequently.
