The nose is a very well perfused part of the body with superficial blood vessels. Bleeding from the nose is a relatively common occurrence, most often characterized by blood flowing out of the nostrils. They can occur due to change in pressure. For example, while hiking in high elevations due to, dryness, foreign bodies, an inflammatory reaction or more commonly a blow to the nose. Fresh or clotted blood can also flow down the throat and into the stomach, causing irritation resulting in nausea and vomiting.
