Pinkeye also known as conjunctivitis is a contagious eye ailment that is caused by an infection or inflammation of the conjunctiva. Pink eye usually is brought about by either bacterial, viral, or numerous allergic factors and needs to be treated as soon as possible.

Symptoms

Steps
1   Carefully wash your hands every time they you touch around your eye
2   Put a warm compress, like a washcloth soaked in warm water on your eye 3-4 times a day, this will ease the pain and break up any crust forming around the eye
3   Use over the counter artificial tears as it can help with itching and irritation
4   If pink eye persists for more than a few days consult a physician
Warnings
DO NOT touch your infected eye with your finger, use tissues
DO NOT wear makeup
Tips
If you wear contacts, remove them and wear glasses until your symptoms have gone away completely
Wash or change your pillowcase every day until infection goes away
