Pufferfish Poisoning
Bookmark and Share

Puffer fish are the second most poisonous vertebrate in the world. Some species are consumed as a delicacy in Japan (Fugu), with very special considerations taken in their preparation. If caught while fishing, it is highly recommended that you wear gloves to remove the fish from the hook to avoid contact with the fish’s skin or getting bitten. Their toxin is highly poisonous and professional medical help should be sought immediately.
