Sexual assault is an assault of a sexual nature on another person. Bring the person to the nearest emergency room as soon as possibly and always contact the police to report the incident. Follow the first aid steps to aid in any injuries, as well as saving evidence to find the perpetrator.

Steps
1   Treat any noticeable injuries like cuts, bruises, or burns
2   Comfort the person as much as possible and believe them
3   Make sure the person does not change clothes, take a shower, brush their teeth, eat or drink
4   Make sure to put any clothing, bedding, or any fabric believed to be associated with the sexual assault in a dry paper bag and seal them
5   Note the location and time of any events and write down as much detail as possible regarding the assault as soon as possible
6   Call 911 or take the person to the hospital emergency room
Warnings
DO NOT allow the person to take a shower, bathe, or brush teeth, or eat or drink anything until they have been examined professionally to preserve evidence of abuse
DO NOT leave the person alone
DO NOT wash or change clothing, bedding, furniture, or any fabric
DO NOT directly confront the alleged abuser, leave it to the police
