Bookmark and Share

Smoke inhalation is the primary cause of death of victims of indoor fires. The injury is due to inhalation or exposure to hot gaseous products from smoke and can cause serious respiratory complications. In a fire more people die from smoke inhalation than burns. Damage is caused by a combination of thermal burns as well as poisoning and irritation to the pulmonary system.
